fixed project 4

I contrasted it more and lightened the left figure

in progress project 5

Project 5 concept

my idea is to create a narrative possibly like a book of a road trip I took with my family to New York through Hershey Pa and back through Washington DC. I am considering doing it like a journal type with maybe handwriting. I will probably include lots of lending modes and filters to differentiate between hot journalism and art

Final??

updated artist statement

My idea has  bended around a bit and now I'm focusing on "how family portraits change" as my narrative. My story is represented wih olors and filters. The people who have always been there in my lifetime are half saturated and drawn in almost like drawn in stone. The people who have became additions to my family are extremely vibrant and "new looking," while the people who I no longer see anymore for different reasons are dark and black and white as to symbolize the past. this will be displayed on a piece of wood from my papaw's cabin, who I wish could see my family now in 2017. It's a really personal piece close to my heart.

Artist statement November 3

My idea is to create a folded 'zine' possibly relating to my family and the cabin my great grandfather built on the mountain that I grew up going to and camping my whole life. Throughout the years we slowly stopped going and much, my cousins have their own families now, and the road is washing out. Last month my family sold it and all the land it sits on to the conservancy and my family had one last time yo there to say goodbye. I'm thinking of trying to find some pictures of old times up there and the growth of my family and the deterioration of the cabin and land itself
